Guest Terry
For my 62nd birthday, I gave myself a paid version of the C25K program on my Android phone. Okay, so at a buck ninety-nine, it wasn't that generous a present! AND, I just retired from being a school counselor for 16 years at a central Wisconsin high school, I am in training to be a Weight Watchers leader, and decided, "What the heck? I'm reinventing myself, so why not take up running?" In essence, if I hadn't started out already in decent shape (I have been walking about 3 miles per day at a pace of just under 15 minutest per mile), this program would have kicked my butt! I can't imagine how anyone who is truly a couch potato would be able to do this!
dminear60
At age 54, I was truly a couch potato and I could honestly say that I had never been a runner. I began C25K in April and I not only completed the program on time but I have competed in two 5K races! I am still running 3 times a week and 3 miles each run while I am working on improving my pace. My running partner and I are waiting for the heat of the summer pass before we run another race because August in Kansas is HOT. I cannot say enough good things about C25K. It has changed my life for the better and helped me to become slimmer, more confident, more fit, and I have a lot more energy.
