    Running certainly helps with cardio and overall fitness. If you use  workout equipment at the gym then you are probably working out a specific muscle or muscle group. You will build up the strength in that specific muscle group rather than just working on your legs when running. 
    Running and the gym are both good workout options, but the one you choose should really just depend on your fitness goals.

    Hey everyone! I'm new here and just wanted to say hi. I hope I can learn from everyone here and share some good tips as well as hopefully learn a lot from all of you. I need the motivation to keep going on my fitness journey. I think this might be the right place for it!

    Running is great for the heart and you need a healthy balance of cardio and strength training. Strength training builds muscles which burns more fat.
