Cross-Training Question: Tai Chi

Hi. Ijust purchased the 26.2 trainer abd was seeing that I will need to add cross training to my schedule. Does that cross training need to be rigorous? Would the slow meditative movements of Tai Chi be too lacking to fill the role of cross training? 

 

I would possibly consider yoga if the tai chi wouldn't cut it - but would need to find a style that is easy on the shoulders - still, I think I would be happier with tai chi.
