Runner Shiv
Hello All - I have been on week 6 day 2 for about a week now. I have for the first time in my life ran a full mile without stopping which was so soo exciting. However now I am getting this weird pain in my right shoulder/chest area (not the heart side). I have a feeling it has to do with either my stamina or posture because it happens right around mile 0.75-1.2. I am a 24 year old girl (around 240lb) that was never really been a runner. I haven't come across this weird/stabbing pain until recently (at the end of week 5). Any advice or similar experience is helpful! Thanks! Anmol Menon
Firstly, Kudos to reaching Week 6!! I'm still on week 1 and on day 2 I experienced stabbing pain in my right hand side chest towards the end of my run, about 7-8 mins left. I stopped jogging at that point and it got better. I don't quite know the reason though, and yeah it wasn't the heart side. (Although technically the heart is in the centre)
Kateliterally
Hey, I've had this when I've been puffing in the past. Try to keep good posture - my physio said to push your chest out (instead of pushing your shoulders back) and to keep your chin up! Obviously if it's ongoing, go see a doc!
