Post-knee surgery and starting over

Hello all! I partially dislocated my patella and incurred some pretty good cartilage damage and bone spurs that was repaired February 2016. Now I'm feeling stronger I'm starting the couch-5k program to get back into the fitness groove and lose some weight. I'm AD Navy and would love to fit into my uniform again after gaining pounds during my injury. I've never been a big runner so I figured this is the best time to start! If you have any tips please let me know!
