Pains in ankles and behind schedule

Hi

I started c25k back in January and started off really well, running 2 or 3 times a week and really enjoyed it.

Got up to week 4 and had a chest infection and due to work commitments have stopped running, coupled with the fact that my right ankle is hurting not long into my work out.

I tried to go back at the stage I stopped and really suffered, I really want to run again - not sure if I can.

What do I do about my ankle?

Welcome Elvis2507!

Starting back after a break is tough, I know and so is dealing with joint pain, whether it be knees or ankles. My first suggestion is always to talk to your doctor before starting any kind of exercise. If you dont have one or dont want to thats ok. A lot of people find that when they start running they have pain in their ankles because theyre not used to the work running puts on them. Normally it goes away as they get stronger and until then icing them and using advil or ibuprofen before running helps a lot.

Hope this helps
