Aint proud of it so i decided to subscribe to a gym where i heard that a woman heavy like me should not run because i can injure my knees and then im screw for life. It got me concern and a bit scared! Should i lose serious amount of weight before running? Is this true?
Guest TrishE
Hello Medleymix! Welcome My advice is to talk to your doctor if you have any concerns about starting an exercise program. He or she knows more about the effects it will have on your body than anyone else.If you dont want or cant risk running for any reason until you lose a little bit of weight than I know a lot of people who go through the program walking first. Fixing up your diet and an easy but constant cardio workout is a great stepping stone for running and it should jump start your weight loss. I wish you luck! Let us know whats up and if you can start the program

ash_bloom
Hi! I'm a complete newbie at exercising and general exercise. I too am overweight. I also have bad knees. While a Dr is optimal, some of us simply can't afford it. So my personal way I am entering into this is to go gently and be easy on muself. If my knees start to hurt, slow down, stretch out, and rest them. You can also put an ice pack around them. It might help ease any soreness. Guest TrishE
hello welcome! Thats great advice My first go to is to always advise talking to a doctor because theyre professionals when it comes to knowledge. If you cant afford to see one thats fine too. There is tons of info online thats good for those that can't or dont want to. I wish you luck and hope you keep us posted!
