reecee713
Hi, I've never been big into running or fitness really at all but I'm trying very hard to get healthy and fit before my upcoming wedding in October. I'm 27, a mother of 1 and a diabetic. I was diagnosed at age 10 as type 2 but this was a misdiagnosis which was recently reversed. I am really a hybrid of types 1 and 2. I need to take insulin but I am also insulin resistant. I want to start walking or running or something in addition to changing my overall diet and nutrition plan but I don't know where to start. I have completed week 1 of Beachbody's 21 day fix program but I want to make more permanent changes as well. Any tips or suggestions are welcome and I could really use some motivation too. If i find it difficult to do the running on the C25K plan, is there a way to modify it or make it work for me?
Guest TrishE
Welcome reecee! Congrats on your upcoming wedding thats a great reason to want to get fit, If youre finding the running segments difficult try walking the program first than repeating it with running. I know a lot of people on the forums have done this. Walking is a great way to strengthen the joints especially if youre just starting out. Set short term realistic goals and make sure your reward yourself for all your hard work when you reach them. Getting healthy is hugely mental and it is hard to keep motivation going. This helps a lot. Invest in a good pair of running shoes when youre ready to start running. If you can swing it, theyre worth what they cost trust me. Good luck! I hope you keep us posted on your progress
