Guest Klands
Hi. I'm a 56 year old wannabe runner. I've tried running before but always stopped because of knee pain. I'm now on wk 4 of c25k and the pace seems to be working for me. Would like to hear from other 50plus women who are finding success.
Guest Lyn
Hi, I'm 58, female, based in the UK, and a new runner this year - I've also started various C25K routines in the past 5 years and always had knee pain that caused me to abandon by the end of week 2! This time I have an iPhone, I downloaded several different C25K apps and have taken it really slowly, repeating week 1 three times (three different apps), then repeating week 2, building up slowly but then some days feeling very able to do two reps of week 2, for example, during a long afternoon out with the dog. I ran the 5K Race For Life last Sunday with no difficulty, although it was a flat course so not really challenging. Today, though, the ZenLabs app will not open - the welcome screen appears, then vanishes without opening the app. I use the MapMyFitness app to track my route and pace, and yesterday that also went mad, inventing a route I had not taken! I hope I haven't lost my workout history on C25K because it's been brilliant so far, and I was looking forward to starting week 5!
Phyllis
Hi 52 year old woman who is not a natural runner but ...... This morning I started week 12 of c210k and ran 5.3 miles /8.5 km in the pouring rain! Some days it's hard but when I'm standing in the shower afterwards it's always worth it. My target is the Great Scottish 10k in October and to keep going afterwards. Husband also following the programme. He had a bad Achilles injury in Sept 2011 and this has got him back out again. Keep going ladies your in the right direction!

Guest naumom57
I hear that Tess. I am also 56. Running in Phoenix at this time of year is hard. To make matters worse, 5 weeks into C25K, I have plantar fasciitis. It hurts to walk and now my ankle is hurting. Arggghhhhh.
