Hi, I'm the Purple Lady. I have lupus and many other autoimmune disorders. My body is at war internally with each disorder fighting the other. I just retired from full-time work. I need to have both hips replaced. I desperately need to regain my health. I have a treatment this afternoon called An intra-articular injection, by definition, is an injection administered directly into a joint. The medication is actually injected into the joint space for the purpose of relieving joint pain. Corticosteroids (steroids) were the first commonly-used substances injected into painful joints. Aside from intra-articular steroid injections, there are also intra-articular hyaluronic acid injections and intra-articular local anesthetics. They will be putting a 14" needle in between the top of the femur and the hip socket entering through the groin. Right now I am walking with a cane and need to get myself more mobile prior to my first hip surgery. I have already had the flanges one knuckle replacement done on all my fingers and now I can type again.
