Think about the most well known yoga personalities that you know of. What comes to mind? Most likely, you think of their impressive skills and abilities. But what about their branding? Professional athletes put a lot of thought into crafting a professional brand that represents them in the best light possible. As a yoga instructor, it's important to do the same! In this blog post, we'll discuss why professional branding is so important for your career and how you can go about creating one. Your professional brand is what people think of when they hear your name. It's the first impression that you make on potential clients and employers. As a yoga teacher, your professional brand should highlight your skills, abilities, and personality. A strong professional brand will help you stand out from the competition and attract more clients. Creating a professional brand can seem like a daunting task, but it doesn't have to be! Start by thinking about what you want people to think of when they hear your name. Do you want to be known as the go-to hot yoga coach? Or the expert on Yin Yoga? Maybe you want to be known as a great Kundalini Yoga instructor. Whatever it is, make sure that your professional brand reflects your goals and aspirations. Once you've decided on the message you want to send, start creating content that supports it. If you want to be known as a weight loss expert, write blog posts and create videos about healthy eating habits and yoga routines for weight loss. If you're looking to attract clients who are interested in flexibility for increased quality of life, create content that showcases your knowledge and experience. This guide walks you through creating a high-quality job posting to attract the top yoga instructors to your studio. Click Sign up on the top right of the screen. On the next page, choose “Employer.” The next screen will be the Create Employer Profile page. Enter all the information. Do not skip adding a logo. Employers with logos get significantly more traction for their jobs because the logo catches the eye of the coach applying for positions. We use your logo when marketing your post on social media, so choose an attention-grabbing logo. If there is no logo when we showcase your posted opportunity on social media, there will only be text shown, which is likely to get less attention from yoga instructors than it could have with a logo. Add a short description of your facility. Being thorough when adding a description helps the applying yoga instructors know if they may be a good fit for your community, potentially saving you both time. Treat the description like you describe your studio to potential investors you want to impress. The reality is you are presenting your yoga studio to investors, but instead of investing money, they are investing their time and life into it. A subpar description may likely only bring subpar interest. Click here to read the full article on GymJobs.com

When it comes to hiring a new coach for your yoga studio, it is important to do your due diligence. This means interviewing potential yoga teachers and checking their references. It's not enough to just look at their qualifications or experience - you need to make sure that they are a good fit for your community and that their values align with yours. By calling references, you can get an idea of what it would be like to work with this person and see if they would be a good addition to your team. Finding the right people to fill your roles is the single biggest challenge in yoga studios today. You can’t grow into a multi-location yoga business without having the right people in the correct roles. Remember, a resume is always a record of embellished accomplishments with all the low points removed. A resume is an Instagram filter for their professional career. We have to get past those filters to find out who the person is, and if they fit into our yoga studio in the roles that we need someone to thrive in. It isn't uncommon for a yoga instructor applying for a management position, or a lead instructor position, who has a resume that says they have the experience necessary to fill the role but have not been totally truthful about their experience. Those are the teachers we have to filter out ASAP. When you have a position that will be responsible for the growth of your yoga studio, you must be extremely diligent in your hiring process. Remember, if you want to grow your business, you have to have A-level employees. The only way to make sure you have A-level employees and not a studio full of B and C employees, or worse, is by checking the references they have listed and finding your own references for the potential hire. If you're an MMA gym owner, it's important to be constantly sourcing new resumes. You never know when the perfect MMA coach will come along, and you don't want to miss out on an opportunity because you weren't prepared. Or worse, you have an unexpected need for a new MMA coach and now you find yourself desperate to fill a position that could've been taken care of if you had a talent pool to source from. In this article, we are going to discuss how smart MMA gym owners keep a talent pool of instructors ready to work! Sourcing resumes offer a number of benefits to businesses, including: - Access to a talent pool: When you are always sourcing resumes, you have access to a larger pool of talented MMA coaches. This allows you to find the perfect MMA coach for your company in a timely manner! If you own an MMA gym, your coaches are what keep everything running. If you have an unexpected loss of a striking, you will need to find a qualified candidate to fill that position as quickly as possible, or you as the owner will have much more work on your plate other than hiring a new striking or stand-up coach. If you are always sourcing potential hires, when the time comes you need to unexpectedly fill a position, you can go to your GymJobs.com account and start contacting coaches who have already expressed interest in serving your fitness community. Imagine needing a coach, or planning to open a new gym and you have a file full of MMA coaches, wrestling coaches, striking coaches, BJJ coaches, judo coaches, nutritionists, and more. Do you want to be the business owner that has to stress filling a position, or the business owner who has a full pre-qualified talent pool of people who want to be a part of your business? It is an easy decision for the smart business owner. - Cost-effective: sourcing resumes is more cost-effective than traditional recruiting methods. This is because you are not spending money on advertising or other recruiting costs. A free posting on Gym Jobs will bring you a steady stream of pre-qualified fight coaches who are ready to be an added value to your business. If you wait until the need for a new hire is immediate, the cost and time required will be a much greater liability both financially for your MMA gym and your own time. This article isn’t intended to be about running a business, teach you how to coach better, or how to get a PR. Instead, its intention is to show how you can use your gym to make a huge impact on the world. Each year, my gym hosts what we call a “Joy Prom.” This event is different from the proms when we were in school because it is a beautiful night we put together for the special needs community. With a little bit of effort and time, you can have a huge impact on some amazing people. We will host our Joy Prom for the seventh year this February. The first year we hosted it, we had 12 kids show up and for us, that was a huge success. The second year, we had 82 kids. In the third year, we had 160 special needs members of our community in our gym enjoying a party and it continues to grow. It’s an amazing feeling to help people, and so I’m going to explain how you can do it. You’re going to need sponsors for your event. To get sponsors, granted they love helping you, but you have to remember that they are also making a business investment and need a return on that investment. Whenever you post on social media about the upcoming Joy Prom, you have to market the sponsors at the same time or you will not have any sponsors the next year. You have to pick a date. I suggest allowing six months to plan and picking a time when there are few school activities going on. That’s how we choose February. We don’t pick this date for the convenience of the guests at the Joy Prom, but with fewer activities going on at school, you’re much more likely to get more help for the night of your event. When you have your date and time set, call all of the newspapers and news stations. They love hearing that a Powerlifting, CrossFit, Olympic Weightlifting gym—whatever you are— is taking the initiative to help the world be a better place. It’s great marketing for your gym and promotes the event so that next year you’ll have more people. If you are a new gym owner, it can help you to become well known in your community very quickly. Now that you have your date, figure out what to do with all the equipment in your gym. You can’t have barbells, chains, and kettlebells just laying around during the Joy Prom. What we do is ask a local business that owns a tractor-trailer truck to let us use it for a few days in exchange for being a sponsor of the event. The business always lets us borrow it, and we park on the property, load it up, and lock the doors. To add an extra layer of protection, the driver backs the truck up to the building so the doors can’t be opened. Click this link to read the full article
