I had foot issues for years that caused me pain to walk across a room. After having surgery on both feet and still having pain I was ready to give up. So, 15+ years of no activity and gaining lots of weight I decided I had to something now because I wanted to be around for my kids. I started watching what I ate, cutting out majority of carbs. I started loosing weight and thought I would try walking. Then a friend was doing the c25k app and I was curious. I was hooked! I was so proud of myself because I was loosing weight and was running which I never thought I could. My feet finally feel better from the surgery and weight loss. I can now run a 5k. I'm very thankful to my friends and family for the encouragement - I couldn't have come this far without them. I still have more weight to loose but I'm motivated!
