  1. I thought it was odd too that there was a time limit. My sister said that she has come across a few races like that. I'm only running at 14-15 minutes right now. I've been focusing on completing the program's daily requirements instead of speed. I was thinking that I could work on speed after I finished the program. As a preteen I could run a 6.5 minute mile, but 30 years later and about 70lbs heavier than I should be, not even close! So I feel you on speed! Thanks for your reply. I might wait until the last minute to sign up, so I can time a few practice runs first.
  2. I'm currently in the middle of week 6 in the program and will be done with it in the first week of January. There is a Hot Chocolate run later that month that seems like it would be fun to do. The problem is,they want you to maintain a 15 minute mile pace and this would be my first ever 5k. I'm anxious about signing up for those reasons but also excited to get my first 5k under my belt. Is this a good idea or am I setting myself up for failure?
  3. First time posting but wanted to drop in and introduce myself. Glad to be here! 42, about 70 lbs overweight, no exercise in years and oodles of excuses. Started making small changes in my food choices over the summer. Started tracking calories about 8 weeks ago. One night I was sitting on the couch and my belly fat was actually hurting my abdomen. Hurting! For the first time I got mad at the fat and not myself (which would make me depressed and then overeat some more). Found this app the next day and SO VERY PROUD to say I completed week 5 day 3 yesterday. I actually cried. I can't believe that I went from struggling with 60 seconds to running for 20 minutes!!! I've actually LOST weight for the first time in over 15 years. Best. App. Ever.! !!
  4. You can do it! Make time for yourself because it really pays off! I've found that using this app has given me a new found confidence. Every time I complete a day, I'm on top of the world. "Running" has been a huge stress and depression reliever (running in quotes because it is really a slow jog right now). I'm going to do week 6 day 1 tomorrow and if I can do it...anyone can! I'm 42 and almost 70 lbs overweight. Haven't exercised in years before this, but now I'm down 9 lbs in 5 weeks and feel stronger too.
