  1. Thanks! I've quit before, but stress levels have brought it back without any outlet for me to do so hopefully this will be the thing =)
  2. That was simple and less painless than the last time I remember, I only hope week 2 is the same. Last round with this, week 2 is as far as I got before I called it quits due to my sciatic so I am nervous going into this. We'll see I guess! I'm already seeing body changes and I even dropped two pounds! If that's not motivation, I don't know what is!
  3. Good luck! You're gonna do great!
  4. So I wasn't expecting to run today, wanted to wait a day in between but I actually got a CRAVING to run! Grudgingly completed it...was stupid enough to do it at noon in 84* weather. I hope I get more cravings though during cooler hours lol. Good luck all!
  5. just completed day 1 of week 1! Yay! Felt great, I wasn't wheezing or gasping for breath like I thought I would be, ran every single time for the entire minute! So proud of myself =^^= One of my friends has said running at night helps him because he feels like he's being chased, which keeps him running. Brilliant. Every other time I've ran, it's always been at night time (I get off work at 3am so daytime running is out of the question), and using that train of thought this time helped me keep going lol. Good luck to all the other beginners out there! We're all in this together. We can do it!
  6. Just a friendly hello to all of you. My name is Jen, I'm from Colorado and have tried the C5k program before but lack of motivation (and sciatic problems) kept me from being persistent with it. Motivation this time around comes from one of my best friends...in short, her health is in jeopardy and needs to get into shape, so her and I, (and a couple of others) have decided to do it together! After I get this started within the next few weeks I will be kicking my nasty smoking habit. I want to get into a running regime first so that way I can use it as my release...seems the knitting/crocheting and writing stuff I've tried replacing it with before is not as powerful as I would have liked lol. I'm fairly healthy though...besides sciatic problems that I've dealt with for almost 20 years from a broken tailbone, I really don't have any excuses not to take this seriously. I may only be 31 years old, but I can feel my sedentary lifestyle has not done anything to benefit me. Wish me luck! Hope to see you around!
