New to this running

Hi all. I’m new to wanting to start running. I used to be very active and athletic in high school which was only 10years ago but now I’m in a sedentary job, have a child, and an under active thyroid. So needless to say I get down on myself for not having the energy to exercise like I should. I want to do this to help me feel better about myself and improve overall health plus I think it’ll help with my mental clarity. If you have any tips or tricks to help keep me on track, I would greatly appreciate it.
