so disappointed... need advice

Hi guys! I need some advice... I'm so disappointed today :(

I'm a beginner overweight runner and so far I've enjoyed the program, but today I really struggled to run... I've been repeating week 5 day 2 for a while, because I just can't run 20 minutes straight. I repeated 8 min jogging - 5 min walking - 8 min jogging 3 or 4 times, then tried to push a little harder and run 9 min, walk 4 and run 9 again. The first time I made it! Last time, I had to stop for 1,5 min and then resumed running... but today, I just couldn't run. My legs felt so heavy and I couldn't breathe well, when I stopped, my side was hurting too... I don't run fast and I tried my best to keep a normal pace, not to push too much. The only difference I can think of is that it's getting extremely hot these days here in Italy, so maybe it's affecting me a bit... but what happened today? I usually run in the morning at around 8 am.

Has it ever happened to you? What did you do? I easily lose motivation, especially when it comes to weight loss, but I don't want to this time! I like running and I want to improve myself and be able to run 20 min and more... what can I do?

I think your being hard on yourself, I know this since I used to be the same way, but my age has cured that! I don't focus on time, but distance, my question to you is:  could you complete a 5k without killing your self, just a leisurely pace ?  Whether you run/walk doesn't matter, your still completing a 5k!!!!!!  If you can't then it's back a week or 2 depending and keep up the progress you will get there!  I too am overweight and I cannot complete their mileage in their time allotted either, but I feel I could do a 5k and I am week 8 repeating quite a few weeks over and over!  The app works as long as you are in it !

How are things going now?  I just started week 5 and I was like "what the" when I saw what was in store. I did run the three 5 minutes and was so proud and will push to keep going. I was just wondering how you are handling it. Hope you are doing well and can't wait to hear from you.
