AgentP got a reaction from concretefingers in Road block - despite 200% effort
I agree with Azatol. I just turned the music up and even tried to sing along and forget I was running! My added piece of advice - go slow. It doesn't matter how far you go it's about getting to the end. I was running at little more than a jiggley walk the first time. But when I got to the end I grew in confidence. You can do this, just do it at what ever pace it takes. Part way through I had to talk to myself. I would be saying lift your legs, breathe, you can do it, breathe. Sometimes I would listen to my breath and say Oooh on the way in and aah on the way out. Then go back to my music. You can do it!!!

W6d1 today. Yay getting faster. Loved that having done 20mins last week this one seemed a breeze, in my mind anyway. Legs still felt a bit heavy on the last 5 mins, and I have to keep telling myself to straighten up when I'm getting tired. I am actually looking forward to week 7. Yes I've gone mad!!! I am a (poorly postured and very slow) RUNNER!!

AgentP got a reaction from Azatol in Oh man that was bad.....
Love it Azatol. I have always put the fact I spend all my spare time being a mum and that "should" come first. But this year I decided if I continue on in this vein I'll be too unfit, fat or dead to be a mum. I am lucky because my husband is being very supportive but it was a mind set change on my part too. NO EXCUSES!!!

Thanks Shannon and Trish - been on a high all day!

AgentP got a reaction from Finn in Started this Week. Day 4. 137 kilos But goal is for 80-90 Kilos by 50 (49 this year)
Hi Finn
Good for you. You will do it. I too have declared that I will run 5kms (and lose weight along the way) so now I must do it. Keep updating us on your journey. It really does help you stay accountable. I wake up and think crikey, must schedule my run so I can post my progress. Yes there are times I want to give up but then I would feel I have disappointed everyone who has taken the time to cheer me on. I say watch out 50 - you won't recognise Finn!!!

Yay smashed W3D3 - well my version of smashed!! Took a minute off my forest track time! Set off about 8 minutes before my husband and his two running mates and I was keen to get to the end point and turn before they caught me and I did it. They went passed a bit further on but I was still motivated to not finish too far behind them.
Feeling a bit more like a runner and didn't even mind them seeing me huff and puff!! Mind you they were going past so fast they probably only heard the huff not the puff!!
Keen to start week 4 next week.

So I decided to give w3D1 a crack despite not feeling great after my last run. But I was feeling energetic and enthusiastic tonight.
There is something about this app that just won't let me give up before I hear that voice. I won't let her win. Maybe I do have some of my competitiveness left in me from my younger days.
Needless to say I did it! Feeling great!

W2D2 done! It was really hard cos it is really hot downunder at the moment!
Needed water but hate carrying a drink bottle in my hand. Any ideas?
Tired legs now but day off 2moro which I will enjoy!

Raining for today's run. Nice change from the heat of my last one!
W2D3 done but I am considering doing it again. I'll see how I feel before my next run. I struggled to lift my legs and find a good pace. My quads were tired and just didn't want to work, felt like my knees and calves were doing all the work.
I don't do a lot of strength work yet but do some lower leg stuff here and there. My arms seemed heavy too and I felt like I was holding them up and carrying them (which probably doesn't makes sense because of course I was) but they felt like they were tiring me. Tried a Pilates work out yesterday and quite enjoyed/ was challenged by it!

I can't stand the sound of my breathing. I start thinking you're breathing too fast and I try to slow it and then I feel breathless and start wheezing!!
So I started running with the music up loud. I only concentrate on the song and my breathing just happens relaxed and rhythmical.
Other runners on the track probably think a horse is coming or maybe an elephant but at least I'm distracted!!

Working on my mind set too. I WILL get both mind and body sorted cos my souls ok!!
