I've been overweight since leaving high school. I "lie" to myself and have little to no support at home, and am not even accountable to myself. I want to be healthy. I need to feel better. I'm a wife, mother, and full time student. One of my children has 'Special Needs'.
I'm hoping I can get some type of push here, some tough love. No BS so that I can get underway.

Thanks all for the tough love and words of support. I am now on Week 2/Day 2 and so far so good. It's not easy but I'm doing it.
I have my first 5 k in about 3 weeks and while I know I cannon and will not jog/run the whole thing, I am hopeful that I'll be able to finish it.

You can do it, NOW GET OUT AND THERE AND DO IT FOR YOURSELF!! Ok is that tough love enough?? lol
Get someone to watch your kiddos and take 30 minutes out for yourself... You have to, and you will be a better Mother/Wife, etc....
JUST DO It! For you! Noone else..

You can do this! I started the app Mid January, finished March 16th. When I started I was 230# and finished at 215.
I personally did the program 6 days a week until week 7 when I went back to three days a week.
I have friends that have repeated weeks when they felt they weren't ready to MoveOn. Just keep it up and you'll feel great at the end of the eight weeks!

I just finished w1d1! I've never been a runner but have several friends that love it!! I too need encouragement... I've already adjusted my eating habits. Here's to success for all of us!

So today I decided to power walk yesterday's 2.5 miles. I did it in 43 min 32 seconds. That's 1 minute and 45 seconds faster than yesterday's run. My average heart rate walking was 130 compared with yesterday's 140.
My target heart rate at 85% is 140
So I'm wondering which is better, walking a faster pace or running slower but being at the 85 percentile target heart rate.
I would appreciate any experienced runners giving me their opinion.

Hello all, I just started today but accidentally did the week 1/day 3 workout.. Now I don't know if I should continue with week 2, start over, go back and do the 2 I missed or do this workout two more times...
I am morbidly obese, 48 years old and I made it through the workout (and didn't die!). I have a goal to do my first 5k on May 8 at Disneyland, (not sure I'll finish it or not get scooped up for being too slow). Anyone else do this? have any advice.
I am thrilled beyond belief that I could do this and I hope to continue checking in and progressing!

It is very easy. press and hold week 1 day 1 and program will reset to the day 1 and all 3 days in the week 1 are the same. You can actually choose any day in the program this way but I suggest stay with the program - it is important to increase endurance first.

Thanks all for the support! I just wanted to follow up and let everyone know that the 4th time was the charm. It wasn't pretty but I did it. I was slow as a snail but I made it through. I wanted to stop in that last 5 minute run but I kept telling myself "Do it. You don't want to repeat week 4 day 1 again " I see some repeats in my future but that's ok.

Welcome!
First start walking daily! Get yourself a pedometer. Any kind will work, but the one that have connection with the smartphone is more convenient.
Try to jog with the C25K program. Jog every other day (3 days per week). Walk the rest of the days.
It is OK to repeat days or weeks, we all did it. (I am repeating whole program but faster).
This forum is great for support, read it,ask questions. I am sure you can do it!
