    Newb - Where to begin

I'd recommend that you look through the different posts that have been made over the last year or so. You may find a lot of help that way.

This past weekend my wife and I took our kids to Cedar Point in Sandusky, OH. Everything was going great until I tried to ride one one their famous coasters. It’s a ride I’ve been on dozens of times, but this time was a bit different. You see, I didn’t fit into the seat in our chosen row. This was the first time that has ever happened. They directed me to another row that accommodated larger passengers, but I had to wait for the next train. I was mortified. Fast forward to today. Trying to think of ways to get myself more active I remembered the C25K app. It’s been a couple of years since I used it, but wanting to give it another try I actually downloaded the 10K version because, why not? I lost interest in exercise when my first son was born. I didn’t have time to work out, work second shift, and be a full time parent while my wife worked first shift. after weighing myself today I was at a bulky 291 pounds. A far cry from the 210 I weighed when I met my wife. Needing to lose some before our family heads to Disney World in November, I’m trying again.

    Rest before Test

Definitely rest at least one day, if not two. Competitive athletes always taper before a competition - you should probably treat this the same way. A few days before you should lighten your workouts and then rest completely the day before.

    Galaxy Watch/App/Tracking

I have the paid version of the c25k app and there's no way to save anything in the cloud. I haven't done it with this app but with other apps, when I finish a run, I take a screenshot and save it to Google Drive.

    New runner starting today

Hi Jen! Good luck, today was my first morning. Cheers to losing weight and getting fit!!!
  18. Hey everyone, I have recently been using the c25k app and it has helped me get into running and track my progress. I have been using the app on my galaxy watch which was connected to my android phone. I recently smashed my android phone, which in turn required me to wipe my watch and i lost all of my progress. While i know there is probably no way to recover my data because it is all local to the device, is there a way in the future for me to upload everything to the cloud. I saw there is a pro app, but there is no clear description of all of the features that you get by upgrading to the pro app vs the free app.

    Training for April 5k

I loved reading this thread! I think the most important is they everyone is sticking to it even when the runs aren’t perfect. That’s awesome! It’s so easy to quit when we don’t do things the “right” way. If you’re moving toward your goals and feeling better while you do it, then it is the right way! Keep it up, you guys rock!

    Back at it!

Hi! I just completed my first run on this app and I’m super excited to work hard and stick with it! I am a former collegiate athlete and am not too happy with how I’ve let myself get this far out of shape the last few years. Enough is enough and though it isn’t my immediate goal to get back into my college playing shape, it would be nice to be able to go through drills and explain things to the high school team I’m coaching without being super winded or sore afterward I’m also getting married next summer so I’d like to be comfortable with how I look and feel way before and way after the big day. I’d like to not look back at my photos and wonder what the heck happened to me! Anyway, I’m pretty pumped to be in this community and I wish everyone the best of luck with your goals too! We got this!

    Music

I have an Apple watch (series 3) and use the 10k PRO app in standalone mode. I love it since I no longer have a bulky phone to drag around. I have a cheap pair of bluetooth headphones I have paired with my watch. I'm able to use 10k Pro and listen to music I have stored on my watch just fine. The voice and audio cues are a little weak, but I can still hear them pretty clear, depending on the music. There doesn't appear to be anyway to adjust the volume of these cues. As to the haptic feedback, I can feel it when its time to switch walking/jogging although I did have to tighten my watch strap a little more than it usually is to be sure. The only real problem I seem to have is that the 10k Pro app wants to be the dominate app when you look at the watch, so switching songs is a bit of a pain as you have to scroll back to the music app each time. Plus changing the music volume using the watch dial doesn't always work right when playing music simultaneously with the 10K Pro app, it works just fine any other time so I know it's not the watch or the headphones.
  25. I would like to know the answer to this as well if anyone has one. I use 10k Pro (standalone on my Apple Watch 3) and when I complete a session and sync it with my phone I can see a map of where I've ran, but once I clear the screen I can't find anyway to view the map again. One solution I have found is to run the free version of Endomondo simultaneously, after the session I can go into the Endomonodo app on my phone to view the route I ran. The Endomondo app is nice as it will give you other metrics about your run and route. I've tried using the Apple Workouts app at the same time, but for some reason it doesn't record my route when I run it simultaneously with 10k Pro; but when I don't have 10k Pro running it records my location just fine? Seems like some sorta bug to me.

    Apple Watch

I have the Pro version and it works fine with my Apple Watch (Series 3). If you can afford an apple watch you can afford a few dollars for the app. So far its the best interval training app I have been able to find. From my past experience with Google products there always seems to be some goofy reason things just don't work right; say what you will about Apple but I think their tight grasp on their product line definitely helps with compatibility.
